Microdermabrasion is a safe, effective and quick form of mechanical exfoliation. At SKN Holistic Rejuvenation Clinic Inc. we use a diamond tip microdermabrasion machine to exfoliate away the outermost layers of the epidermis while stimulating collagen formation in the deeper layers of the skin.

Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people who have undiagnosed raised lesions on the skin, active acneic breaks, active keloids, a recent herpes outbreak, skin cancer, sunburn, or rosacea, eczema, an auto-immune system disorder, or unstable diabetes. Pregnant women should not undergo microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is recommended for healthy intact skin that needs a good exfoliation. Microdermabrasion works well for sun damaged skin, aging skin, dull skin. It is a great monthly treatment to maintain healthy, well exfoliated and nourished skin.

Microdermabrasion can help lighten pigmented acne scars when combined with a light peel or medi-facial. Microdermabrasion is not effective in the treatment of indented acne scars. Dermapen is the best treatment option for indented acne scarring.
