At the age of 22, Amanda decided she wanted more from her career. With a degree in psychology and a wealth of experience in social care, Amanda set out to explore the world. Formative years spent abroad in places such as Korea led Amanda to the discovery of the powers of eastern medicine. Upon her return to Canada, Amanda spent several years at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver.

While completing her Acupuncture studies, Amanda traveled to California to learn Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture under the guidance of Martha Lucas. After seeing firsthand how effective Cosmetic Acupuncture was in decreasing and preventing aging of the skin, Amanda was inspired.

Amanda’s passion and knowledge led her to create the Award Winning SKN Holistic Rejuvenation Clinic. SKN is the only clinic that combines the powers of Eastern medicine, medical esthetics and skin nutrition. This unique concept allows the SKN team to improve the look and health of both the skin and the internal health of each client, so results are holistic and long term.

Amanda and her team are continuously researching and pushing the boundaries of modern skincare. Through SKN, she offers clients innovative and non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatments, all in an effort to repair, restore and replenish the skin and body. Amanda’s mission is to provide great skincare and services while both educating and inspiring others.

In 2011 Amanda launched her first product, called The SKN Spin – a dermal roller system. The SKN Spin Dermal Roller was handed out at the 2012 Emmy Awards.

In 2013 Amanda successfully formulated and launched her first skin care line called Skin Addix, a natural cosmeceutical line.

Forget Beauty was created from Amanda’s decade as a holistic skin-care expert and her deep understanding of the vulnerability underneath the human quest for beauty. The result is a community that celebrates self-love in all its forms.

Amanda’s Philosophy:

“I had a vision to create a place that was different from all the other spas and clinics. My goal was to build a peaceful, calm oasis filled with heart – where each and every client felt valued and taken care of. SKN would be a place where clients came to relax, laugh, cry and have fun; all while achieving healthy, vibrant skin and a balanced state of being. I could not achieve this goal without a wonderful team that is not only extremely knowledgeable but truly passionate about helping people achieve healthy, beautiful skin.”

Jackie was born and raised in Japan and decided to move to Canada in 2007 with her husband and children.

After the arrival of her second daughter she decided to start her career in 2011 in the service industry and in 2017 her true passion – health and wellness led her to Blanche Macdonald. Jackie is a very gifted, and talented aesthetician who quickly excelled at Vancouver’s top medical spas, becoming a highly sought after practitioner.

She has gained an abundance of knowledge in skincare and skin treatments both holistic and in the medical aesthetics field. This broad range of knowledge allows her to provide an effective, safe and comprehensive treatment experience for her clients.

Jackie’s Philosophy:
“I LOVE skin! and I believe skincare is an integral part of healthcare, therefore should be a part of your overall health and well being. I am a firm believer in the importance of looking after your skin both internally and externally, as your health and corresponding beauty always starts from within. I am here to help and support everybody who wants to achieve their healthy skin goals!”

Tyra grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and began her career working at a medical aesthetics clinic in Burnaby. Her experience in customer service revealed her passion for working with people, inspiring her to attend Blanche Macdonald Centre and All Body Laser to specialize in medical aesthetics.

Specializing in laser treatments, Tyra has worked with a variety of advanced  technologies, gaining a deep understanding of their applications. While her expertise lies on the medical side of aesthetics, she takes great joy in making clients feel relaxed and well cared for during their treatments.

Tyra’s Philosophy: “I believe that your lifestyle and health deeply affect your skin. It’s important to take care of ourselves emotionally and physically by taking care of our bodies and putting positive energy into the world.”

Kalina has had a passion for beauty, health and wellness as far back as she can remember. She landed her first job in the industry as an assistant in a hair salon in Victoria BC. She then decided to move to the mainland to pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist, completing a certification in beauty and special effects makeup.

Kalina worked in the makeup industry for many years, and also dove into the health industry working as a personal trainer and competing in fitness.

In 2021, Kalina decided to pursue medical aesthetics and has since fallen in love with this career path, especially the correlation between physical health, personal wellbeing and beauty.

Kalina enjoys customizing plans for people according to their individual needs and lifestyle. She has a passion for combining modern technology with tradition styles of aesthetics to ensure the best results.

Kalina’s Philosophy
“ I believe that beauty is unique to each individual, and is most apparent when one feels healthy spiritually, physically and emotionally. The most rewarding part of my job is when I can see the transformation in how a person carries themselves and how they present themselves to the world. “

Michelle has spent many years in the spa industry and over 10 years ago she made the decision to further advance her skill set and took a keen focus on medical aesthetics learning various laser technologies and advanced skin care treatments.

Her background in Holistic Nutrition further developed her scope of practice, allowing her to instruct clients on the internal care needed to obtain healthy youthful skin.

You can rest assured you are in good hands with Michelle, who has over 17 years of advanced skin care experience and knowledge to guide you on your way to healthy skin.

Michelle’s Philosophy:
“My SKN philosophy is simple. The mind, body, spirit and skin are all connected. Each requires TLC in the form of food, skin care, exercise, yoga and positive social interaction. Everything is connected and when each part is nurtured and cared for, you will be too.”

Originally from Korea, Lauren moved to Canada in 2015, and since then she has spent years building a solid foundation of skills and experience within the service industry.

Driven by a deep-rooted passion for beauty, Lauren decided to turn her passion into a profession by pursuing a diploma at Blanche Macdonald.

Throughout her journey; Lauren has discovered a profound affinity for facials, finding true joy in enhancing the natural beauty of each and every client through personalized treatments and helping them to achieve healthy, radiant skin.
Always committed to continuous learning; Lauren quickly gained in-depth expertise in skincare, leveraging her experience from the top clinics in Vancouver and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques. To this day she remains at the forefront of the industry.

Lauren’s Philosophy:
“ I believe our skin is deeply interconnected with overall body health. Taking care of your skin means taking care of your entire well-being. I am here to listen, empathize, and more importantly help to improve the health and appearance of your skin.

Yvonne was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and has always had a passion for exploration. She has traveled extensively across North America, Asia, and Europe, seeking out memorable experiences through food and wellness. During her travels, Yvonne enjoys indulging in facial and body treatments to gain insights into unique cultural approaches to skincare. Yet, no matter where her adventures take her, Vancouver always feels like home.

With over a decade of experience as a professional chef, Yvonne honed her skills in luxury hotels, delighting guests with exquisite culinary creations. However, her interest in self-care and personal wellness led her to pursue a second passion: aesthetics. Yvonne is a proud graduate of Blanche Macdonald, bringing more than five years of experience in skincare to her role. She excels in building lasting relationships with her clients and is dedicated to providing top-tier treatments that nurture both the body and mind.

Christina graduated from Blanche Macdonald in 2004 and has been a part of the ever growing and expanding skincare industry ever since. She started her career at Spa Utopia developing her hands on skills and building a loyal clientele base. Christina then went on to run Hollyburn Country Club Spa for almost a decade. 

Christina joined SKN Clinic 5 years ago and exceeds in creating a deeply relaxing and restorative treatment experiences.  She has a gentle, healing touch. 

Christina loves to perform Medi-Facials, SKN Journeys, HydraFacials, and Micro-needling. 

Zahra received her Medical Aesthetic degree with honours from International Beauty Institute Toronto.

She was fortunate to then begin her aesthetics career at one of Toronto’s leading laser and Skin clinics which allowed her to gain extensive experience in laser treatments.  She excels in performing BBL Treatments, Laser Hair removal and is a master of HydraFacials, and Micro-Needling.  She also loves creating a deeply restorative SKN Journey for her clients.  

She has a deep understanding of skincare and custom curating the best home-care routine for her clients is something she is very passionate about.   

Amie began her esthetics career in 2008 following working as a freelance Makeup Artist in Halifax, NS.  With a passion for travel and a belief in the healing of nature, Amie moved to the Canadian Rockies in Banff Alberta where she worked at some of Canada’s top resorts, gaining more skills in the treatment room and relaxation massage.  Vancouver came calling in 2014, where Amie began the next chapter of her career, focused on holistic skin health with a blend of medical esthetics.  She has dedicated herself to  mastering industry favourites such as Halo, BBL, and the Hydra-Facial.  

Her passion and intuitive understanding of the skin ensure you are in great hands.  

Meliza has been in the customer service industry for over 5 years. After graduating high school Meliza attended Flight Attendant school, pursuing her passion for for travel and learning about different cultures. Meliza is energized and inspired meeting and working with new people. This led her to continue her studies at Eton College, a private institution in Vancouver where she obtained a diploma in Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism.

Meliza believes customer satisfaction is the top priority, all in an effort to build long term relationships, creating happy, loyal, returning clients.

In her free time she’s developed an interest in taking care of her skin and over wellness a journey which lead her to SKN Clinic. Meliza has been a part of the SKN Team for over 2 years bringing a bright, beautiful energy that ensures anyone who walks in our doors to feel immediately welcome.

Meliza’s Philosophy:
“Skin and beauty start from within. I believe in taking care of yourself from the inside and outside, whether that would be having a good skin care routine, eating healthy, staying hydrated and being active.”

Alli is a two time graduate from Blanche Macdonald, specializing in Aesthetics and Makeup Artistry. With over eight years of experience in both industries, working in world-renowned spas and performing makeup in the film and wedding industry, she was ready for the next step in her career, moving from the small town of Fernie to Vancouver to pursue her dreams.

Alli is passionate about customer service and helping others achieve their goals—assisting in any way she can with her knowledge of the industry and the care she has for others.

Alli’s Philosophy:
“I believe when you start to heal the skin holistically and live a balanced lifestyle, you don’t only see the positive effects on the outside, but you feel them inside too.”

Josefin was born and raised in beautiful Sweden where she studied Dramatic Arts and Civics when she, at 19, decided to move to Vancouver, Canada by herself to widen her view of the world. Here she has completed a year at one of Vancouvers biggest Film Schools and has since then worked in the Film and TV industry as well as the customer service industry. She is passionate about people and making them feel happy from the inside and out. Her calm and cheerful energy is sure to make every customer feel at home.
