5 Must Have Wellness Teas to have in your Pantry

5 Must Have Wellness Teas to have in your Pantry | SKN Clinic

In my opinion, herbal teas are under-rated in terms of their benefits! Herbal teas can be an excellent addition to add to any healthy diet, wellness, and beauty routine. From digestive problems and liver support to clearing skin and reducing PMS symptoms, below are 5 teas that I love to recommend and always keep in stock in my pantry:

1. Nettle

Use for: liver detoxification, mineral replenishment, beautiful skin, menstrual cramps & fatigue

Nettle tea is a nutritional and beautifying powerhouse. Nettle is incredible for its skin and beautifying properties because it contains antioxidants such as vitamins A & C, as well as B vitamins and vitamin K. It is also rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, and sodium which can be excellent to take to fight fatigue for women during their period when they are losing minerals more quickly, or for active people that need to replenish from workouts due to mineral loss. Nettle is also amazing for liver health helping to detoxify toxins and heavy metals and reduce inflammation.

2. Chamomile

Use for: stress, anxiety, sleep, soothing digestion, combatting inflammation

Chamomile is a popular tea for good reason as it has truly special benefits. As many people are dealing with stressful lifestyles, chamomile is one of the best herbs to create a calming effect on the brain and reduce stress/anxiety. Chamomile is also wonderful for reducing inflammation and helps to soothe the digestive system. It can help reduce bloating, IBS symptoms, and help produce digestive enzymes to break down nutrients from food. Chamomile is one of my top teas to recommend for a good nights sleep, and we all know how important optimal sleep is for our beauty and wellness routine!

3. Dandelion

Use for: bloating, liver health, antioxidant replenishment, clear skin, PMS symptoms, weight loss

Dandelion tea is another one of my favourite teas to have on hand for many reasons. Dandelion is another tea rich in antioxidants like vitamin C which help with collagen production and clear skin. Dandelion is also excellent for liver health as it stimulates bile production. I love to recommend dandelion for bloating as it helps with water retention from over-eating, eating foods we’re sensitive to, or around women’s menstrual cycles. It can also aid with weight loss mostly due to its diuretic effect. My favourite is roasted dandelion, as I have found it more effective and find it tastes more delicious!

4. Ginger

Use for: low body temperature, hypothyroid, metabolism boost, inflammation, pain, nausea

Ginger is especially effective for people with cold constitutions or those who have a sluggish thyroid, as it helps to warm the body and speed up metabolism. Ginger is also my favourite tea to recommend for nausea or to fight cold/flu symptoms as it helps boost the immune system and soothes inflammation. It can also be effective at reducing pain such as headaches, menstrual cramps, or joint pain.

5. Mint

Use for: digestion, stress reduction, excess body heat, headaches, pain, weight loss

Mint is one of my favourite teas to recommend to relieve digestive discomfort such as bloating, cramping, or flatulence. It helps to stimulate hydrochloric acid and enzymes to digest protein, carbs, and fats better. It also has a calming effect on the brain and can help with stress. Mint can help cool down the body for those who experience excess heat, even better if the tea is made iced! Lastly, I love to recommend mint for reducing headaches, pain, and aiding with weight loss.
