FAQ

Your skin will be pink similar to a sunburn and feel warm. Depending on the depth of treatment performed this redness can go away that evening or last a couple days. Most often your skin will feel dry for a few days post treatment. You are provided with a healing oil to aid your skin during this time. When having treatment for acne scarring there can be mild to moderate peeling post treatment.

Yes you can apply makeup the following day. We recommend using a mineral based makeup or Oxygenetix.

The treatments are performed at 4-6 week intervals.

The number of sessions varies from person to person depending on your skin needs and goals. The average number of sessions for anti-aging treatments is 3-6 in a year. The average number of sessions for acne scarring is 6.

Visible results are generally seen 6-8 weeks following the treatment and improve further over time. A course of Micro-Needling sessions is recommended to achieve optimum results; however skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment.

The treatment is described as mildly to moderately uncomfortable by our clients. 90% of clients do not need a numbing agent. If you are very sensitive we recommend applying a numbing agent 30 minutes prior to your session. You can purchase the Zensai numbing tube for $69+ tax or a single use pod for $15+tax from us. We do not apply the numbing agent at SKN.

Micro-Needling is contraindicated during pregnancy and throughout breastfeeding. It cannot be performed on clients currently on accutane, or blood thinning medications.

It is contraindicated for anyone with a serious health condition or autoimmune condition.

Presence of raised moles, warts or any raised lesions on targeted area.

Other contraindications include; scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; blood clotting problems; active bacterial or fungal infection; immune-suppression.

You will want to wait 2 weeks after injectables to have the Micro-Needling Treatment. However you can have fillers and botox as soon as the day after a Micro-Needling treatment.
